Ian Powell - Owner & CEO

About Me

Hello, I'm Ian Powell, the heart and soul behind Financial Serenity. I used to work as a Training and Development Manager at FTS International in Fort Worth, crafting projects I was passionate about. But when my son, Xaver, came into the world, I found my true calling—helping people find financial peace. I know what it feels like to be burdened by debt, but I also know the freedom that comes with sound financial management

My Values

I'm a Christian, Husband, Daddy, Business Owner, and Wealth Manager—

in that order.

When I serve well in my professional capacity, it allows me to be a better father, husband, and community member.

Don't worry, my commitment to being a great Wealth Manager isn't last—it's the cornerstone supporting all the roles I cherish.

Education

  • Bachelors in Business Administration from Penn West University, 2006
  • MBA from the Katz Graduate School of Business at the University of Pittsburgh, 2011

Outside the Office

When I'm not busy helping you build a better financial future, you might find me playing with Legos (both with and without my kids), or hitting the open road in my Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Unlimited—a family-friendly vehicle perfect for our adventurous spirits! Speaking of which, my family and I are on a mission to visit all the national parks before Xaver turns 18; we're at nine and counting.

Community Service

  • Board of Directors, Rotary International Local Club (President-Elect for 2023/2024)
  • Lighting Director at Pathway Church
  • Mission trips to Houma, LA, and Haiti
  • Former Elder at Chartiers Hill U.P. Church; Canonsburg, PA

My Family

Amber - My reading-enthusiast wife whose real love language is dining out.

Xaver - My 9-year-old who loves Legos, games, and reading comic books. He's happiest when we're playing games together.

Zoey - My intelligent daughter who shines in her own right, loves Baby Yoda, Tea Party's (but not princesses anymore), and LOVES quality time with our family. (Oh, and the Waffle House).

My BHAGG
(Big Hairy Audacious God Goal)

By 2043, I aim for Financial Serenity to manage over $1,000,000,000,001 in AUM and establish 2,000 Salt Blocks, to make the world a better place and fulfill our mission and values as a company.
